The in-home consultation is a comprehensive 2-hour session where we take the time to fully understand your vision and aspirations for your space. During this in-person meeting, we’ll discuss your lifestyle, preferences, and design goals to ensure that the final outcome truly reflects your needs. We’ll dive into how you want your space to feel and function, explore your style preferences, and review any specific requirements you may have. It’s also an opportunity for us to outline our design process, clarify expectations, and provide a clear scope of work along with estimated design fees. This initial meeting sets the foundation for a successful collaboration, ensuring your dreams and ideas are brought to life in a way that’s uniquely yours.
Step 2: Design Concept
Once we’ve agreed on the scope of work and design fees, we’ll formalize our partnership and begin the exciting design phase. The process starts with an in-depth space assessment, where we take detailed measurements and photographs of the areas to be redesigned. We’ll then share an initial inspiration presentation that includes a curated selection of images based on our initial discussions and any photos you’ve shared. This step is all about refining your preferences—getting clarity on what resonates with you and what doesn’t—so we can ensure that the design is perfectly tailored to your taste. We’ll also begin reviewing costs for finishes and furnishings, setting the stage for a realistic budget that aligns with your vision.
Step 3: Detailed Design and 3D Visualization
Building on the approved design concept and budget guidelines, we move into the detailed design phase. Here, we transform ideas into tangible plans through precise floor plans, elevations, and renderings, ensuring a clear and effective communication of the design to both you and the contractors. We meticulously select all fixtures, finishes, and furnishings to bring together a cohesive look and feel that aligns with your vision. Once the details are finalized, we present the complete design package, tying everything back to our "True North" concept and ensuring it stays within the approved budget. This step ensures every element is thoughtfully curated, setting the foundation for a seamless project execution.
Step 4: Complete Design Binder, Construction Proposal & Shopping for Finished materials
With the detailed design approved, we invite contractor proposals to bring your vision to life. We collaborate closely with skilled tradespeople who share our commitment to quality and excellence. During this phase, we conduct walkthroughs with contractors to ensure comprehensive bids that reflect the design intent and project scope. We maintain clear communication with vendors and contractors to guarantee that every detail is executed to perfection.
For our full-service clients, we handle the procurement of materials, utilizing our expertise to secure the best value and quality. If you prefer to shop for finishes and materials yourself, we offer consultation services to help guide your choices through retail or online options, ensuring the final selections align beautifully with the overall design.
Step 5: Demo Day and Construction Phase Management
With all my projects, it’s essential that I am involved throughout the build and installation phase. No two remodels are alike and each requires a collaboration between the homeowners, the builders and myself. We may need to pivot and come up with creative solutions once we enter construction. Demo day is a huge milestone and I like to involve you in the process. Regular check-ins and communication with the General Contractor’s project manager will ensure your remodel stays on track and on-budget.
